Planning Committees and Project Teams
More than 35 business and property owners, neighborhood residents, community members, and city representatives volunteer on one or more of our committees or project teams.
We are always looking for interested persons, organizations or companies who want to get more involved with the East 10th Street Civic Association. We invite you to review the committee and team descriptions below and submit a volunteer application for more information. Thanks in advance for your support and interest.
Pipeline Committee*
Oversees pre-development and property acquisition projects in the pipeline under the direction of the East 10th Street Civic Association Board of Directors.
Design Committee*
Educates and advocates for appropriate and effective design improvements on the corridor. Responsible for coordinating streetscape beautification, district signage, green space development projects for the corridor.
Beautification Team*
Coordinates and develops green spaces along the East 10th Street Corridor.
East 10th Street Business Crime Watch Team*
Generates awareness of crime prevention and safety among the East 10th Street business community as it affects the retail climate and future economic growth along the 10 East Main Street corridor.
Economic Restructuring Committee
Primarily responsible for overall business development of corridor. Develops technical and funding programs specific to strengthening existing businesses and recruiting new ones.
Promotions and Marketing Committee
Responsible for overall marketing and promotions of corridor. Develops promotional activities and collateral materials (signage, newsletter, advertising) supporting existing businesses and the recruitment of new ones. Plans special events and retail promotions.
Arts Committee
Assesses needs and looks for academic and cultural arts opportunities for children, adults and families on the near Eastside. Programming should encompass visual arts, music, theatre, dance, language, social and life skills, and critical thinking.
Web Development Team
Oversees development of organization’s Web site including site map, design and content. Team provides support of ongoing site updates or changes.
Fund Development Team
Oversees fund raising strategy for organization and special events, including grant writing, donations and sponsorships; explores community-building and project partner relationships.
